Koforidua Clinic Honours Brilliant POJOBA Interns, Pledges Support for Medical Dreams

Koforidua Clinic Honours Brilliant POJOBA Interns, Pledges Support for Medical Dreams

The management of Koforidua Clinic, led by its Managing Director, Daasebre John Appiah (POJOBA ’01), honoured two outstanding interns—Peter Mawuko Gbedivlo and Prince Kelvin Abornu—who were among the three platinum awardees at the recently held Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary (POJOSS) Speech and Prize Giving Day.
The duo, both old boys of POJOSS, are currently undergoing an internship at the Koforidua Clinic as part of a career development initiative facilitated by the National Executive Council (NEC) of POJOBA. Their placement followed revelations that, despite scoring 7As in the 2024 WASSCE, they were unable to purchase tertiary application forms due to financial constraints.
Over the past few months, Peter and Prince have distinguished themselves through hard work, discipline, and a keen ability to learn, earning admiration from both clinical and administrative staff. Their seamless integration into the clinic’s operations has made them standout examples of potential within the Ghanaian youth.
Both aspiring medical doctors, Peter and Prince, say the opportunity to intern at Koforidua Clinic has deepened their understanding of Ghana’s healthcare system and the roles of various stakeholders in ensuring effective health delivery. Their daily exposure to real-time medical procedures, patient care, and mentorship from senior medical officers has inspired them to pursue their medical dreams with renewed passion.
As part of their internship package, they receive monthly stipends and participate in regular mentorship sessions with doctors at the facility. Speaking at the brief ceremony to honour the interns, Daasebre John Appiah reaffirmed the clinic’s commitment to supporting the educational journey of Peter and Prince.
Koforidua Clinic is a fully Ghanaian-owned, first-class private healthcare facility located in Koforidua in the Eastern Region. Founded by Dr. John Affaidzi Appiah in 1981, the clinic has consistently delivered quality healthcare services to thousands of residents in Koforidua and surrounding communities. Koforidua Clinic is Rivia Clinic and adheres to the highest standards of health care delivery characteristic of all Rivia Clinics world wide.
